Initially trained in painting, Jacobs earned his BFA from Jacksonville University and MFA from East Carolina University. After moving to Utah in 1985, he taught visual arts at Weber State University until 2015. Jacobs\u2019 work incorporates materials like woven tree branches, milled lumber, wooden tools, furniture, and human hair, evolving from his early sculptural paintings.
