The prestigious award comes with a $25,000 cash award.<\/p>\n<p>Gallaspy received her BFA in ceramics at the University of Georgia and her MFA from Alfred University in Alfred, New York. She creates both\u00a0\u00a0 sculptural and functional ceramics, as well as drawings and paintings.
