To judge by the number of announcements we have received from them this week the Bountiful Davis Art Center’s<\/a> (BDAC) resolution was to start the New Year with lots of movement.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>They’ve announced that\u00a0Sherry Rauch has been elected as the new Chair for the center’s Board of Trustees. She takes over after the resignation of Aida S. Mattingley, who served for over 5 years in the position. An artist and graphic designer,\u00a0Rauch has been on the Board of BDAC since 2009, serving most recently on the Executive Committee as Secretary. She has a BA in Graphic Design from The College of Design at Iowa State University, 1985. Rauch served as an Executive Committee Member at Lamplight Art Gallery 2006-2007and as an Art Director and Designer for over 25 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cSherry brings much energy and dedication to excellence to BDAC and its programs.\u00a0 She has been tremendously helpful already, using her talents to bring a recognizable brand to BDAC,” <\/span>says Emma J. Dugal, Executive Director of BDAC. “She is an excellent leader and will take BDAC to a new level.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Rauch will help oversee the BDAC’s transition to their new location. Right now the center is temporarily moving to the Davis County Memorial Courthouse in Farmington (28 East State Street Farmington, UT 84025)\u00a0while its permanent in Bountiful is being renovated.<\/p>\n

BDAC can’t take everything with them so on January 11 and 12th, from 9am to 4pm, they will be hosting a MOVING SALE at their Bountiful location (745 So. Main Street). \u00a0 Some of the items available are desks, chairs, display cases, tables, etc all at rock-bottom prices.\u00a0 There will also be some art for sale at deeply \u00a0discounted prices. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

BDAC will be at its temporary location at the Davis County Memorial Courthouse starting in mid January.\u00a0 The address is 28 East State Street in Farmington, located on the 2nd<\/sup> floor of the building.\u00a0 Staff Members and volunteers including the Bountiful Lions Club have been busy painting the new space in preparation for the move.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cScott Durrant, BDAC Board Member and Designer, has chosen a rich palette of colors inspired by a LeConte Stewart painting.\u00a0 These colors include yellows, greens, oranges, purples and blues.\u00a0 The offices, gift shop, reception area and gallery spaces of BDAC will be very colorful and aesthetically pleasing.\u00a0 The color scheme itself is a work of art and I\u2019m sure people will want to stop by just to see the paint on the walls in addition to the exhibits,\u201d<\/em> says BDAC Director, Emma J. Dugal.<\/p>\n

The first exhibit in the temporary space (2nd<\/sup> floor of the Courthouse), will be the Statewide Competition that will begin on February 22, 2013.\u00a0 Artists may submit works of art from February 5-9, 10am-5pm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
