John Cage once said, \u201cWherever we are, what we hear is mostly noise. When we ignore it, it disturbs us. When we listen to it, we find it fascinating.\u201d Fascination with noise is at the heart of Flinching Eye Collective,<\/em> a Denver-based performance group that embraces, attacks and transforms sound as an artistic medium. And if you catch their Atemporal Radio Tour at Nox Contemporary this Saturday, May 26, you’ll find it hard to ignore.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The group of sound-based\u00a0performance\u00a0artists (Ad\u00e1n De La Garza, Jacob Barreras, Grant Speich, Max Bernstein, Mark McCoin, Matt Weedman, Tobias Fike, Mark Banzhoff, Scott Ferguson, Aaron Angelo, and Benjamin Gale-Schrek.) will be making a one-night stop at Nox Contemporary on their one week traveling performance exhibition running from the Southwest to Salt Lake City and landing back in Denver, Colorado.<\/p>\n

A duet on the skeleton of a piano, layered films that follow sonic narratives, mashes of found and digitally-sampled sound, a highly textured, audience-interactive cellphone symphony, and a number of video and performance pieces centering around sound will transform the gallery space into an aural and visual laboratory.<\/p>\n
