The exhibition features KaleidescopElote, an immersive installation built from enlarged resin kernels. Combining an interactive digital kaleidoscope of stars and seeds with augmented-reality sound, the sculpture responds to visitors’ movements. Muñoz’s work connects contemporary technologies with longstanding systems of knowledge, examining relationships among agriculture, architecture, celestial observation, and the natural world. An accompanying publication includes an essay by UMFA curator Dr. Emily Lawhead.

The opening reception will include treats, music provided by DJ Drew, and a chance to mingle with artist Amor Muñoz!

Utah Museum of Fine Arts

410 Campus City Dr. SLC, 84112

Admission for opening is free

RSVP Here

SALT LAKE CITY
October 24, 2026 – June 6, 2027
Reception: Friday, October 23, 6–9 p.m.
Mexico City-based artist Amor Muñoz explores the intersections of technology, craft, labor, and biology in salt 18, an exhibition centered on corn as a carrier of memory, cultural exchange, and generational knowledge…

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[25,41

post-106454","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-exhibitions","category-salt_lake_area
[0
category
]},"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
["GET
