Fabri draws on experiences at the Bonneville Salt Flats, Stansbury Island and the Great Salt Lake\u2014where Robert Smithson\u2019s Spiral Jetty provides an important point of reference\u2014while incorporating encounters and conversations with communities throughout the region.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition layers ecology, popular culture, faith, race and historical memory, with pink and salt serving as recurring threads. Fabri connects the Great Salt Lake\u2019s pink, hypersaline environment to Kool-Aid and Jonestown, while other works explore his experience as a Black American encountering the history and contemporary presence of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah.
