Now in its second year, the Statewide Emerging Artists\u2019 Annual (SWEAA) brings together 40 artists from across Utah who are in the formative stages of their careers, including university students and recent graduates, self-taught artists, and artists returning to their practices after significant gaps.<\/p>\n

Designed as both a showcase and an incubator, the competitive juried exhibition gives emerging artists an opportunity to exhibit in a professional gallery, reach new audiences and compete for unrestricted cash awards. The Best in Show recipient will also receive a solo exhibition at BDAC in 2027. This year\u2019s exhibition is juried by interdisciplinary artist, curator, writer and educator Christopher Lynn, a 2025 Utah Artist Fellow in Visual Arts and associate professor at Brigham Young University.<\/p>\n
