In Cathexes, Clay Grubbs explores a process of dialogue and discovery in which each mark responds to the one before it while prompting the next. Paintings and sculptural works develop through relationships among marks, forms, lines, and space, emphasizing process and interaction as much as the finished object. The exhibition includes gestural, densely layered paintings alongside delicate wire sculptures, creating a varied study of how individual marks accumulate into larger forms and experiences.<\/p>\n
