From her early &#8220;zipper paintings,&#8221; which challenged the flatness of the painted surface, to sculptural abstractions, lightboxes, banners, and narrative works, Carson has consistently explored the possibilities of color, composition, material, and popular culture.<\/p>\n<p>Working across an evolving range of styles and subjects\u2014from abstraction and signage-inspired graphics to landscapes and farm machinery\u2014Carson balances intellectual inquiry with humor and accessibility. Her work reflects a sophisticated understanding of structure and color while remaining inviting, playful, and often surprising.
