Bringing together the work of more than 30 Indigenous artists from across the Great Basin and surrounding region, Of This Place: Great Basin Neighbors celebrates the enduring relationships between people, place, and cultural memory. Featuring artists from Newe (Shoshone), Numu (Paiute), Nuche (Ute), and Din\u00e9 (Navajo) communities, the exhibition spans basketry, beadwork, ceramics, fiber, installation, painting, photography, printmaking, quilting, and sculpture.<\/p>\n

Rather than presenting a singular narrative, the exhibition offers multiple perspectives on the landscapes and histories of the Great Basin, addressing themes of environmental stewardship, cultural resilience, and the lasting impacts of federal boarding schools on Indigenous communities. Together, the works explore how ancestral knowledge and contemporary artistic practice continue to shape understandings of place and identity.<\/p>\n

The opening reception includes a lecture and performance by artist Gregg Deal.<\/p>\n
