\"\"<\/a>Steven Ralph Jerman was born in 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was raised. He worked most of his life as a graphic artist. He first became known for T-shirt designs done while a student at Utah State University. He was then influenced by New York City pop artists after a brief stay in 1984. Later, while working in publishing and with the Salt Lake City AIGA, he became apprised of other designers\/illustrators, collage, and digital styles.<\/p>\n

Currently, he resides in Logan, Utah. Over his career, he has used different media and several techniques, including naive and abstract. In 2000, after being exposed to Photoshop through magazine art director roles, he created a new style of imagery. He calls the art \u201cMergings,\u201d which combine separate images based on a concept. He published a book about the artwork in 2010, has spoken about it, and has demonstrated it publicly.<\/p>\n

With a child\u2019s imagination to fine art, and recognizing his own time and place, he wishes to begin to sell his fine art, which would be the ultimate culmination of an accomplished and varied career.<\/p>\n

Artists Statement<\/strong>
\nI have always been interested in art, and have been called an \u201call-around creative brain,\u201d having a wide range of interests, knowledge, and creative abilities. As an awarded commercial artist, I recognized concept, color, composition, and balance as elements of picture-making.<\/p>\n

For the past 25 years, I have been employing combinations of acrylic paint, canvas, wood, paper, photography, and digital graphics to create colorful two- and three-dimensional pieces. Pop art, influenced by my profession in publishing and advertising, has had the biggest impact on me. Some work begins with a humorous, clever, heady, or obsessive viewpoint – but finding surprising, eye-catching, and well-designed solutions to any problem is what I find most fulfilling.<\/p>\n
