Wren Ross is an artist whose work is deeply rooted in storytelling, myth, and disguise, exploring their roles in understanding human connection and existence. She uses storytelling as a universal bridge, linking differences and similarities through the evocative power of symbols, which serve as ever-changing currencies of meaning. Mythology in her work provides a framework for navigating the mysteries of life, offering reassurance and connection to shared experiences. Disguise, meanwhile, allows her to explore themes of invisibility, wildness, and belonging, unpacking broader questions about what it means to be human.
Her drawings serve as beacons, advocating for stillness and observation of the mundane, revealing the profound in the everyday. Wren holds a BFA with honors from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MSW from the University of Utah. Her work has received numerous accolades, including awards from the Salt Lake City Statewide Annual Exhibition and the Bountiful Davis Art Center’s Statewide Annual Show. Pieces such as Attrition and Star Atlas IV have been acquired by Utah’s State and County Fine Art Collections.
