Pat Denner is Salt Lake’s hidden legend. You’ve probably passed by his building on Broadway, but never bothered to venture into his gallery/studio space, stacked with portraits, pinups, and cartoons. Denner designed the original Colonel Sanders KFC, The Vegas Vic cowboy sign, Wendover Will, and many other signs that you have seen around Salt Lake, including the Manhatten. He uses all kinds of mediums: ink, watercolor, arcrylic, oils, pencil, colored pencil, markers, airbrush, and the list goes on. The octogenarian is still hard at work so be sure to stop in his space next time you’re in the neighborhood — 171 E Broadway Salt Lake CTY, UT 84111
