Jolysa Sedgwick, originally from Connecticut and now residing in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a glass and tile artist with a passion for socio-cultural anthropology, travel, and community service. Influenced by nature and the vibrancy of colors, her art often features ocean life, reflecting her fascination with the sea despite an aversion to swimming in open waters. Sedgwick, a Brigham Young University graduate in Anthropology, has contributed to her community in West Jordan, particularly in aiding food-insecure students. She plans to merge her love for Hmong traditions and glasswork in a future project, collaborating with Hmong artisans to create stained glass pieces inspired by traditional Hmong embroidery.
