John Bell has had a busy summer, from hosting a dinner party in the streets of L.A.’s Chinatown to a live performance painting during Denver’s First Friday art walk and full circle back to Salt Lake City (where, in between his artistic activities he was nice enough to design a new 15 Bytes logo and print up our tee shirts – get yours here).
On July 29th Bell hosted an unusual dinner party in the streets of L.A.’s Chinatown where 18 people participated in creating a piece of art. The performance was part of an exhibit of Utah artists curated by Micol Hebron at Jancar Gallery. Here’s the video of the event.

On September 23rd & 24th Bell will continue his dinner-oriented work when he and fellow artist Craig Cleveland roll out the canvas to create a large scale gestural, abstract painting of dinner guests in a participatory invitation-only event (click here to reserve a spot).
And on Saturday, October 15th he’ll join 24 other Utah artists in the third installment of Art Meets Fashion, which presents a multi-genre art exhibition titled ‘Deconstructing Venus,’ curated by AMF co-founders Anne Cummings-Anderson and Heidi Gress (you’ll learn more in our October edition).
