Springville
August 28, 2024 – July 2025
Opening Reception – August 28, 2024, 6-8pm
This August the Springville Museum of Art invites visitors to explore a new interactive exhibition that will conjure memories of life before smart phones. Co-curated with visionary artist and gallerist Bianca Velasquez, It’s All Fun and Games will feature whimsical and playful artworks that celebrate childlike play.
Using a range of mediums, artists delve into realms of childhood nostalgia, creating dialogue between the past and present. Tactile, hands-on experiences will reconnect visitors with the carefree joy of their early years, encourage playful exploration, and ignite curiosity.
Visitors will encounter giant sticky hands, an oversized blanket fort, I-spy murals, endearing illustrations, enchanting dollhouses, and more! The exhibition will feature works by known artists including Trent Call, John Connors, Alethia Lunares, Abigale Palmer, Andrew Smith, Bianca Velasquez, and Amy Willmuth.
In an age where self-soothing often involves screens and technology, join the Springville Museum of Art in celebrating and reminiscing about the objects and activities that once captivated our imaginations.
