Get Submerged in Art

Art, Music and Charity. It’s hard to beat that combination.

This weekend Weird Chief Pictures presents the 3rd annual Submerged in Art, a gathering of Art & Music designed to benefit Salt Lake’s The Road Home homeless shelter.

On February 24th and 25th above the Tap Room in Sugar House (2275 S. Highland Drive) fifteen local artists join DJs, poets and local musicians for an event that raises thousands of dollars for the homeless.

The 2010 and 2011 events attracted considerable and enthusiastic crowds. Event founder Iosua Tai Taeoalii says the past two years have laid the groundwork for their best event yet. “It’s now our 3rd year and we’ve established that we know what we’re doing, we’ve proved you can have a great time at a charity event.”

The event begins at 6pm both night. Paintings, sculptures and prints will be on sale, and a silent auction will feature items donated by over 30 LocalFirst Utah businesses.

The Utah artists exhibiting include Iosua Tai Taeoalii, Adrienne Taeoalii, Daniel Overstreet, Darrell Driver, Mason Fetzer, Chris Madsen, Dusk One, Adrian Prazen, Brian Gerber, Jorge Arellano Molina, Lucky Seven, Jared Knight, Sonya Evans, Joshua L. Johnston. Their works will be intertwined with the audio troposphere of DJ Sayo(Friday), DJ Street Jesus(Saturday) and the hosting entertainment of Adam Sherlock and Johnny Riche, the evenings will harness live performances by The Precinct, The Moth and the Flame, Brian Bingham, Bellrave, Matt Mateus, Chivers Timbers, Mad Max and internationally renowned poets Jesse Parent and Jean Howard along with other surprise performances.
