Alicia Finlayson, a Salt Lake City native and fine artist, draws inspiration from the Wasatch mountains and nature. Specializing in oils and watercolors, she focuses on light and nature, using plein air painting, sketching, and photography as resources. Finlayson’s work is characterized by expressive brushwork, light, color, and composition. Her education includes a BFA from Boston University in painting and printmaking, influenced by classical representational art. Her studies continued in Taichung, Taiwan, and later in Perugia and Florence, Italy, deeply impacting her watercolors. Finlayson completed her MFA in painting at Brigham Young University, enriching her diverse artistic repertoire.
