St. George, Utah
February 14 – March 28, 2026
Gala opening reception: February 13, 2026 (ticketed)
Now in its 39th year, the Sears Invitational Art Show & Sale is a cornerstone of Southern Utah’s visual arts calendar and one of the region’s most prestigious annual exhibitions. Hosted at the Sears Art Museum on the Utah Tech University campus, the Invitational brings together museum-quality work by accomplished artists from across the American West, serving as both a major exhibition and the museum’s primary fundraiser.
This year’s exhibition features approximately 230 works by more than 170 artists, with participants drawn primarily from Utah, Idaho, Colorado, and Nevada, alongside artists from throughout the western United States. The exhibition offers a wide-ranging snapshot of contemporary regional practice, including landscapes, still lifes, Western imagery, contemporary realism, sculpture, ceramics, and photography. Established artists appear alongside emerging voices, including students from Utah Tech University, reflecting both depth and generational breadth.
Founded by Robert N. Sears (1915–1995) to ensure consistent access to high-quality visual art in Southern Utah, the Invitational has grown into a cultural anchor for St. George’s winter season. Proceeds from art sales directly support the Sears Art Museum’s exhibitions, educational programs, and community engagement. A full-color exhibition catalog is available for purchase.
