If you’re attending Salt Lake City’s Utah Art Market this weekend — at their Granary location rather than their longstanding Foothill Village home — you’ll have a chance to see some non-movable street art along with all the perfect gift-size items you can find inside.
Earlier this year, Utah Art Market ventured outside of their cozy and long-standing location at Salt Lake City’s Foothill Village. In June, they occupied the Mullet Studios in Murray and in October gave us a taste of what will be happening this weekend, Nov. 11 & 12, when they fill up Woodbine Hall in SLC’s Granary District (555 West 700 South).
Opened this summer, Woodbine is one of the newest developments in the Granary district. It already features a great food hall and is looking to expand with residencies and businesses. In the meantime, it’s happy to be home to recurring art markets.
It’s got plenty of parking around back (going west bound on 800 South it will be hard to miss the parking lot) where you’ll also find a menagerie of street art. With the change in venue, we’ll see if the market gets a more hipster and/or if they will able to attract their east bench clientele to the new location. And as things gentrify, who knows how long the murals will be around so check them out soon.
With our In Plain Site byline we feature publicly viewable art, both official and street art, throughout the state of Utah.
