Bountiful

Sugar House Art Walk Salt Lake City
Sugar House Art Walk: A free event of art and food. Featured artist is Heidi Van Ert, who uses pen and ink to creak colorful watercolors. She also publishes adult coloring books which will be for sale during the event. 6-9 p.m. Heidi Van Ert can be seen online at:

Show Us Your Art at Urban Arts Gallery, Salt Lake City. This gallery features art inspired by city life and culture showcasing everything from raw street art to fine modern art. Bring up to two pieces of ready-to-hang work and your own easels/table easels. Vote for your favorite 3 pieces. Top 5 selected artists will showcase their work in the gallery. 7 p.m.

Cedar City
“On Golden Pond”: Part of the Neil Simon Festival at Heritage Center Theater in Cedar City, this critically acclaimed play is the love story of a retired professor, nearing 80, and his 70-year-old wife returning to their summer home for the 48th year. It was called “a work of rare simplicity and beauty . . .” and “a rare theatrical experience.” 8 p.m. tickets@simonfest.org

Sunday, August 14
SLC
12 Minutes Max, a monthly showcase of short works and works-in-progress by local artists in many disciplines. Three new pieces are featured in a varied mix, chosen from music, dance, film, writing, theater, performance art and the like—each 12 minutes or less. The whole event is short and sweet, taking under an hour. After each month’s performances, coffee and cookies are served—a time for conversation and feedback. Main Library, Salt Lake City, 2-3 p.m.
