We had a great 2012!
During this year we matched $15,000 in government and private foundation money with an equal amount from individuals and businesses in the community. We were able to make this budget strong and flexible, using it to produce our monthly editions, plus expanded coverage in our Daily Bytes blog. Traffic on our site is up 20% from last year. We were able to add two new part-time staff positions and further develop our video program.
We are as excited about 2013 as we have been about 2012. In March we’ll be hosting 35X35, our showcase of Utah’s young talent. We’ll also be introducing a new program, Utah’s 15, honoring the state’s most influential artists (if all goes well this will become our first print publication). In our monthly and daily coverage of the arts in 2013, you’ll find expanded coverage of music, dance and literary arts in addition to our normal, in-depth coverage of the visual arts. And we hope you’ll be seeing more and more videos from us.
All of this will be possible because we have a devoted group of volunteer writers and photographers and editors who help produce our content. And we have a fabulous group of individuals, businesses and organizations who are willing to support Utah’s art community. You’ll find their names below. We’d like to thank them for a great 2012.
