THE SKINNY
UMOCA announced last week that they will be starting a new Artist in Residence program. The residency will offer free studio space, private meetings with national curators, critics, and other art world professionals, workshops in professional development, monthly critiques, special access to visiting artists and lecturers, exhibition opportunities outside the museum, and a week-long working vacation in rural Utah. We’ve also received word that the Central Utah Art Center is looking to raise money to find a temporary home in Salt Lake City, where they hope to hold two exhibitions before the end of the year. The location of the space has yet to be announced (nor whether or not, if they move north, they’ll have to change their name?).
