About the artists:
Lennie Mahler is a Salt Lake City-native photographer whose work has appeared almost exclusively in newspapers in the age of the demise of newspapers. He strives to create interesting photographs and expand his work beyond a documentary style.
Henry Krinkle has always been alive. His favorite things are doing what he wants, when he wants. Another passion is helping others see that they can also do what they want as long as it is not harming anybody else. The aim of his visual representations of the world askew is to remind the viewer that it is okay to sit back and laugh as hard as possible at whatever she or he would like to laugh at.
The work of Erik Daenitz examines a culture where freedom is readily disposed of for access, where constant fear and presumption of security reigns. He is fascinated by an American culture marching toward the end of privacy, and the anomalous and in congruent social behaviors that arise from these choices. What’s missing in this culture of mass distraction is a discussion of values and a face-to-face debate about how to craft our future. It is in hopes of fostering this debate that he records his images.
