The 1-5-B, Episode 8: Joe Totten and Michael Gills On Writing

On Thursday, September 28, Utah writers Joe Totten and Michael Gills came to Salt Lake City’s Finch Lane Gallery as part of READ LOCAL, a collaboration between Salt Lake City Arts Council and 15 Bytes, with financial support from Utah Humanities, in which we pair emerging local writers with established writers for a reading and discussion of their work.

After reading from their work, Gills and Totten engaged in a conversation with each other and the Finch Lane audience on the nature of their craft. The conversation is moderated by 15 Bytes literary editors David Pace and Calvin Jolley.

You can listen Joe Totten reading from his story “The Starling Killers” here and Michael Gills’ reading from his novel Emergency Instructions here.
