DUE DEC. 5
Utah artists are encouraged to submit letters of interest and qualifications for the creation of public artwork for the expansion of Tooele Technical College. This project is open to artists/artist teams residing in the southwestern United States including: Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada.
The Utah Public Art Program, in association with the Division of Facilities Construction and Management and Tooele Technical College, is seeking artists interested in creating site-specific artwork for the expansion of Tooele Technical College expansion.
In development of work for this project, artists may consider the specific training offered at Tooele Technical College or the union between educational training and economic development — a significant responsibility of the college. The full description and how to apply is available at: https://artsandmuseums.utah.gov/public-art-opportunities.
The deadline for receipt of material from interested artists is 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time on Dec. 5, 2022. Applications may be submitted online at callforentry.org.
The Public Art Program was created by the Utah State Legislature in 1985 with the passage of the Percent-for-Art-Act. This statute allows for 1% of construction costs for new or remodeled state facilities to be added to the project for the commissioning or acquisition of art that is site specific to the facility and community.
