Sharon Shepherd at Phillips Gallery’s Dibble Gallery

Salt Lake City
Jan. 20 – Feb. 11

Phillips Gallery – 444 E 200 S; 801-364-8284

Sharon Shepherd’s many muses include ancient cultures, weathered architecture, layers of graffiti or simply light and space. As an active studio artist for over five decades, she has developed an articulate painterly vocabulary, boldly exploring abstractions of multi-textured surfaces and layers, which have evolved into a distinctive painting style.

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Shepherd holds a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting and Drawing from the University of Utah, and an MFA in Library Science, specializing in Fine Arts from Brigham Young University. In addition to exhibiting at many notable venues throughout Utah, while residing in San Francisco (since 1985), she has shown her work at SFMOMA Artists Gallery, Oakland Museum Collectors Gallery, Seattle Art Museum, as well as the Pan Pacific International Fine Arts Exhibition (Japan), and the American Conservatory Theater (CA).
