RAK Chronicles by Roots Art Kollective brings a vibrant collection of murals and artworks to Finch Lane Gallery. The exhibition explores themes of identity, memory, and cultural resilience, incorporating intricate patterns, calligraphy, and symbolic figures that reflect the collective’s immigrant backgrounds. Through these personal yet universal themes, Roots Art Kollective highlights the transformative power of public art and its role in shaping both identity and community. Behind-the-scenes insights showcase the process of collaboration that drives their public art projects.
Roots Art Kollective, a Utah-based muralist group founded in 2019 by Miguel Galaz, Luis Novoa, and Alan Ochoa, merges cultural storytelling with environmental awareness. Their murals celebrate heritage and foster community connections, creating dynamic spaces that resonate with the collective’s roots and values.
