Rad Cuch

Holladay artist grew up in Fort Duchesne in a large family of eight. He learned most of his art abilities by himself and started at an early age. His love of art began when he gained interest in reading science fiction comic books. Cuch loved the really intricate drawings that gave his mind something to think about. Since 2003 he has worked at Salt Lake City’s Urban Indian Center, and most of his work uses Indian styles and motifs. His chosen subjects are the people of his tribe, the Northern Utes, and his depictions of their traditional clothing, household objects and everyday activities. His appreciation of the artistry in Ute beadwork has led him to also create his own unique style of two-dimensional drawings ornamented with three-dimensional beadwork.
