Artists or artist teams are encouraged to submit letters of interest and qualifications for the creation of public art for the new Trades & Technology Facility at MTech College in Lehi, Utah.
The Utah Public Art Program of the Division of Arts and Museums, in association with the Division of Facilities and Construction Management and MTech College, are seeking artists wishing to create site specific public art for this second building on the Thanksgiving Point Campus of MTech. A rendering of the new building is attached.
The MTech Trades & Technology Art Selection Committee is interested in commissioning public artwork for the project that supports and honors MTech’s vision as a place where community members participate in training programs working toward a better quality of life and career development. All of this important work situated in the beautiful landscape, community, and traditions of the Mountainland Region and Utah County.

The Public Art Program was created by the Utah State Legislature in 1985 with the passage of the Percent-for-Art Act. This statute allows for 1 percent of construction costs for new or remodeled State facilities to be added to the project for the commissioning or acquisition of art that is site specific to the facility and community. To date, more than 230 works have been placed in state facilities.
