Reception: Friday, March 28, 4:00 – 5:30 PM
In Petrified, ceramic artist Brian Christensen explores clay’s transformative journey, connecting art to earth by drawing parallels between clay formation and geological transformation in Utah’s landscapes. Through intricate ceramic sculptures, Christensen reflects on the enduring passage of time and the process of material evolution. His works evoke fossilized forms, preserved relics, and geological textures that invite viewers to reflect on cycles of creation, decay, and preservation.
This exhibition is a featured showcase for the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) conference, celebrating Christensen’s exploration of clay’s versatility and symbolism.
