Passage to Peru celebrates the extraordinary artistic legacy of Ernesto Apomayta, whose fifty-year career spans continents, cultures, and mediums. Renowned as “the last great Chinese calligrapher” by China and revered in Peru as their greatest living artist, Apomayta’s work bridges traditional and contemporary forms with a transcultural visual language.
This exhibition showcases original works from Apomayta’s extensive collection of Peruvian, Latin American, and Chinese art—featuring paintings on canvas, wood, paper, and murals commissioned by embassies and institutions worldwide. With exhibitions held in museums and cultural centers across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, Apomayta’s influence is global, and this show offers a rare opportunity to witness the depth of his vision up close.
