The museum’s permanent collection and rotating exhibits focus on American art produced in the Western Region of the United States. The museum features events free to the public, such as concerts and book readings. Along with its permanent collection, the museum features other art exhibits, which run for six to eight weeks. There are often exhibits located in the Special Collections section of the USU Merrill Library. The Museum also features a campus-wide collection of art and sculpture. Exhibits are advertised in the local media.
