If you can’t quite buy in to the truism that these days we are a visual culture, just take a look at Instagram. Every day millions of people post images from their life, unadorned with words. It is, as our artist profile Mark Hedengren mentions in his video interview, a contemporary form of conversation. To join that conversation, we’ve launched our new Facebook-page feature 15Grams. Curated every Monday by local artist Liberty Blake, 15Grams features a single image from one of Utah’s finest Instagrammers, with an invitation to explore their work. For this month’s photo essay we feature examples from the five Instagrammers we have already featured, as well as some shots from Blake herself, who Instagrams under her Derby handle “England’s Glory.”
