Interwoven: Modernist Tapestries from SUMA’s Collection at SUMA

Cedar City
June 1 – September 28

As a thread that connects the summer exhibition themes of modernism, abstraction, biography, and history, this small show displays four mid-century tapestries by Mathieu Matégot and Thomas Gleb. While Matégot’s pieces demonstrate his versatility as a modernist artist and designer who worked across media, much like Harry Bertoia, the tapestry designed by Gleb, a Holocaust survivor, expresses the power of art to record personal experience, document a shared history, and elicit collective remembrance.
