Salt Lake City
April 3 – May 23, 2025
Opening Reception: Thursday, April 3, 2025, 5–7 p.m.
Featuring 22 relief sculptures by Suzanne Storer and eight portrait busts by Louise Solecki Weir, I’m Roofless, NOT Homeless offers a deeply humanizing look at the unhoused. Through visual storytelling, the exhibit presents individual lives shaped by misfortune, trauma, and resilience.
Storer’s tableaus were inspired by conversations with residents of a local resource center, challenging viewers to see the shared humanity in those we often overlook. Weir’s busts, modeled on individuals living with mental illness or brain injury, employ the classical tradition of heroic portraiture to elevate the stories of marginalized lives. Together, the works ask us to reconsider who is worthy of empathy and recognition.
