The Utah Valley University Museum of Art at Lakemount is excited to announce a new opportunity for artists to submit work for consideration into an upcoming exhibition focused on Utah Lake. Healing Waters: Restoring Our Relationship with Utah Lake examines the region’s connection with this vital body of water over time. Utah Lake offers incredible opportunities to connect with nature and recreate, as well as providing vital resources and ecological habitats. It is our center in Utah Valley: historically, ecologically, and physically. But decades of environmental degradation and impaired water quality have led to a bad reputation, a narrative still popular in our collective memory despite vast improvements from hundreds of restoration projects. The water is healing—now we turn to the community to help repair our local relationship with this inspiring place through art, conversation, and memory.
