Freedom Festival Art Exhibit

Provo
July 3 – Sept. 4

Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony: Friday, July 5, 7 pm

“Utah has so many amazing artists, and we are thrilled to be able to provide a venue for artists from all over the state to showcase their work,” says Deann Morin, the Art Gallery Director at the Covey Center for the Arts.

The Freedom Festival art exhibit and contest has been a traditional part of the festival up until 2020. The COVID19 outbreak impacted all areas of the festival, however, with the art installation being shuttered.

Through collaborative efforts with the Covey Center for the Arts, Provo City Library, and the Provo City Arts Council, the contest and exhibit was restored this year with no apparent loss of interest from the public. More than 300 art works from 168 artists were submitted, with 240 accepted as a part of the exhibit.

Opening ceremonies and a kickoff reception for the show begins at 7pm on July 5th, in combination with the first Friday weekly Art Stroll from 6pm-9pm. There, the finalists and winners of the cash awards will be announced, including the winner of the highly-anticipated Patriotic Award.

Visit the Covey Center for the Arts from July 3-Sept 4 between the hours of 10am-6pm or during evening events to view the 140 art selections as part of the Freedom Festival Art Exhibit. Additional pieces of the exhibit are available in the Nelson Attic in the Provo City Library.
