St. George
December 6, 2024 – March 8, 2025
The St. George Art Museum’s Legacy Gallery presents Fluid States, an exhibition of sculptural works by Meaghan Gates that invites viewers to contemplate transformation and empathy through abstracted biological forms. Meaghan Gates creates abstract sculptures inspired by biological forms, blending anthropomorphic gestures and vibrant colors to evoke emotional resonance. These works encourage viewers to empathize with the forms, envisioning potential outcomes of change and adaptation. Each piece is a meditation on transformation, exploring the interconnectedness of living beings and the world around us.
Gates’ art bridges the gap between abstraction and familiarity, inviting the audience to reflect on the fluidity of existence and the implications of transformation in our natural and personal landscapes.
