Opening Reception: Friday, May 2, 2025, 6–9 p.m.
Alma Gallery presents its inaugural Exhibition of Rejected Artworks from the 101st Springville Salon, a bold and celebratory showcase of over 100 works submitted—but not accepted—to Utah’s most prestigious juried art exhibition. Taking inspiration from the historic 1863 Salon des Refusés in Paris, this alternative exhibition honors the creativity, persistence, and diversity of Utah’s contemporary artists.
Curated not in protest, but in solidarity, the show acknowledges the challenges artists face with limited exhibition opportunities. “This exhibition is about creating space for artists who keep showing up,” says Gallery Director Tyler Alexander. Located just six miles from the official Salon venue, Alma Gallery offers a second platform where powerful, thought-provoking art can be seen and celebrated by the public.
