The times were “a-changin’,” and artists of the 1960s to 1980s responded to an era of mass media, war, and protest with new approaches to sculpture, prints, paintings, comics, and more. Counterpoint features dozens of these works from the MOA collection by artists including Warhol, Lichtenstein, Haworth, Ruscha, Gerardia, Grebenak, and Indiana.
Step back in time to explore this explosion of Pop, Op, “high,” “low,” activist, comic, and cosmic art. As you do, you’ll wonder at how much has changed (and how much is still the same).
This exhibition is a companion to Off Kilter, On Point: Art of the 1960s from Colorado State University, opening at the Museum of Art in June 2024.
