Bryan Mark Taylor: Painting on the Great Wall of China

As evidenced by his exhibition of recent works that went up at Anthony’s Fine Art on December 7th, Bryan Mark Taylor travels the world for inspiration. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Taylor studied art at BYU and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and now resides in Alpine. His plein air work, for which he has received numerous awards, is created close to home and far afield including locales in Italy, Slovenia, Austria and Cuba.

If you follow his Instagram account you’ll know that most recently he has been spending time in China, where he has captured fruit markets, floating villages and back alleyways of small towns in his fluid, signature style.  He says the highlight of 2018 was the opportunity to paint on The Great Wall.

Taylor is also sought out as an instructor and lecturer, and in 2016 produced an instructional DVD titled “The Master’s Mind.” He has also developed the STRADA Easel, an outdoor painting system used by plein air artists worldwide.
