Best Of 2017: J. Amber Egbert

J. Amber Egbert is a ceramic artist and adjunct faculty member at BYU living in Highland. She received her BS in music therapy from USU in 1998 and her MFA in studio arts from BYU in 2016.

She has been included in numerous state, regional and national shows, most recently, in 2017: a solo exhibition at Art Access Gallery in Salt Lake City; the Face of Utah Sculpture XIII at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center in West Valley City; a juried exhibition at the Woodbury in Orem; another juried show at Gallery 2901 in Salt Lake City; and the annual Faculty Exhibition in the Harris Fine Arts Center at BYU, Provo.

She says: “The coolest thing that happened to me in 2017 is that I got to hike The Subway in Zion National Park with my family and some friends.  I hobbled around for a week after, but the experience was worth every sore muscle and ache!” She included an image of herself rappelling in The Subway and tells us she also loves reading and gardening.
