PYGmalion Theatre Company concludes its 2024/2025 season with Be Here Now by Deborah Zoe Laufer, directed by Jason Bowcutt. This dark comedy follows Bari, a cynical former professor of nihilism who’s stuck working at a fulfillment center in her rural hometown. Just as her existential despair peaks, she begins experiencing mysterious, ecstatic episodes that upend her worldview—and may be symptoms of a terminal condition.
As Bari grapples with love, meaning, and mortality, she faces the ultimate question: is it better to live a short, joyful life, or a long, empty one? Smart, funny, and moving, Be Here Now dives deep into what it means to live fully.
