Art Access is an affiliate of VSA International, founded by Jean Kennedy Smith in 1974 to create a society where people with disabilities learn through, participate in and enjoy the arts. VSA is part of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Twelve signature programs for children and adults with and without disabilities and those in other underserved or disenfranchised populations incorporate our long-standing practice of inclusion, wherein people with and without disabilities work together toward the common goal of expressing their unique life stories through the arts.
Throughout the year, Art Access Galleries feature artwork by emerging and established artists with and without disabilities through changing exhibitions, each with an opening that corresponds to Gallery Stroll. The gallery is open year round, M – F, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with Saturday hours during the holidays.
