ARTIST STATEMENT
I love animation. All aspects of it, from the character design, to the storytelling, to the sense of life that it is able to create. Because of this, animation affects many facets of my artwork. My style tends to be more exaggerated and cartoony, with bright, complimentary colors, inspired by the many animated movies by the likes of Disney, Don Bluth, and Studio Ghibli that I watched growing up. Another aspect in my work that is influenced by animation is storytelling. Most of my drawings have some level of story in mind when I’m working on them, whether it’s based on a piece of media that I like, or my own original characters. I primarily make character-centered art, and taking into account their individual personality, story, and visual motifs is important to me. My main medium is digital art, using programs such as Procreate, Photoshop, and RoughAnimator; though I also enjoy doing traditional art using pencil, watercolor, oil, acrylic, and any other medium I can get my hands on.
