Alejandra Ramos is from Tucson, Arizona and currently works in Provo, Utah. She recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. Alejandra works in photography and video to make art centered on the process of memory and how images temporarily satisfy desires to materialize time. The motivation for her work comes from personal memories associated with the growing disconnect between her life in the U.S. and her Guatemalan and Mexican heritage. In response to the disconnect she feels, Alejandra focuses on how still and moving images serve to freeze time and reconcile lost connection.
