Print Day Celebration: Saturday, September 20, 11 a.m. until all blocks are printed
Make a giant impression this year as Saltgrass Printmakers celebrates The Year of the Snake with its epic annual steamroller print event. Starting May 17, participants can purchase a 24″ x 24″ toned and sealed woodblock for $20 and spend the summer carving their design. A demo with artist Stefanie Dykes at 2 p.m. on kickoff day will cover carving basics and answer any questions.
On September 20, artists will bring their completed blocks to the print day where they’ll be inked and printed under the power of a steamroller. The event will use an Exquisite Corpse-style format, linking designs together to form one—or many—giant collaborative snakes. All materials provided.
No experience necessary—just show up ready to carve, create, and print!
