Artists of Utah’s third 35X35 opens at Salt Lake’s Finch Lane Gallery in March 8, 2013.

We just closed up our application process and this is gonna be a great show! We received over 100 entries, ranging from traditional painting to video and performance. Our board will have their work cut out for them narrowing down the selection to just thirty-five artists, but they have plenty to choose from so we think the show will be fabulous.

The Show

35X35 is our showcase of work by Utah’s young generation of artists. The exhibit features work by 35 artists 35 or younger, providing the artists with a unique exhibition opportunity as well as extended media coverage to help further their career. The 2009 exhibition opened to packed audiences and favorable critical review. Many of the artists in that exhibit have become fixtures in the local art scene.

35 x 35 is open to visual artists resident in the state born after January 1, 1978. All media are considered.

Opening Reception:

Awards Reception:

Friday, April 19, 2013 – 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Exhibition runs March 8^th – April 26, 2013.

Five Cash Awards will be presented as part of the 35×35 Exhibition:

Three independent Jurors’ Awards

An Artists of Utah Board of Directors Award

A People’s Choice Award (voted on by gallery patrons during the 35X35 exhibition).

35X35 Documentary

As part of the exhibition accepted artists will be invited to participate in a video documentary. The artists will be interviewed describing their work and methods. A feature-length film combining these interviews will screen during the Awards Reception on April 19 and be available online at 15bytes.com. In addition, individual artist interviews will be provided to the artists and used in our publications as occasion permits.
